Tsunami Fried Chicken...??
In Fact, this is actually a tipycal fried chicken from Aceh Rayeuk known as Ayam Tangkap. However, it became famous right after Tsunami hit Aceh. Then, some people call it Tsunami Fried Chicken.
Ingredients
- 1 Chicken, cut into small pieces (Local Chicken is recommended)
- 2 Tablespoon of Lemon Juice
- 10 Sprigs of Curry leaves (Aceh: Temurui)
- 5 Pieces of Pandan leaves
- 1 liter of Vegetable oil
- 1 cup of boiled water
- 8 Green Chilies
- Seasoning
- 3 cloves of Garlic
- 3 pieces of Onion, sliced
- 5 pieces of cayenne pepper
- 2 cm Turmeric
- 2 cm Fresh Ginger
- Salt to taste
- Tamarin water to taste
Directions
- Clean the chicken. Put in the bowl then sprinkle with lemon juice and salt to eliminate the smell.
- Blend all seasoning then mix with boiled water.
- Pour the seasoning to chicken pieces, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer. The oil should be just enough to cover chicken pieces entirely.
- Put the chicken into hot oil, wait until it getting browned.
- Add sliced union, curry leaf, pandan leaves and green chilies before the chicken is really cooked.
- Remove from heat and drain. The Fried Chicken is ready to be served.
